Following an NBA title run, the Golden State Warriors’ electrifying duo known as The Splash Brothers is expected to have a busy offseason. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have already gotten into the publicity game, starring in a promotional ad for the upcoming Minions movie.
Curry and Thompson are seen dribbling and passing the basketball in a gym while one of the minions is unable to grab the ball. Minions comes out July 10th and is a spin-off film featuring the popular characters from the Despicable Me franchise.
Curry is the reigning NBA MVP and considered the greatest shooter in basketball today. He hit 286 three-pointers during the 2014-15 season, leading the Warriors to 67 regular season wins and their first championship since 1975.
In the last year, Curry’s popularity has exploded proving that the deal he signed with Under Armour in 2013 should be a great bargain. In addition to his Curry One shoe dropping in February, he also has endorsement deals with companies like Degree, State Farm, and JBL audio.
Thompson has been building up his own reputation as a knock down shooter alongside Curry. In 2014, the duo set a record for teammates with 484 threes made during the season.
This past season, Thompson was named to the All-NBA Third Team and also saw his endorsement portfolio take off. He now has partnerships with ANTA Sports Products, BodyArmor, and ShotTracker.
