One of Great Britain's most popular athletes ever is keynoting an event in London this September. Track star Kriss Akabusi gives the opening keynote at the Resort Development Organization's conference on September 20th.
The RDO7 Taking Ownership conference runs September 20-22 at the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel and Spa. The timeshare event wants to promote greater collaboration in the industry.
There will be plenty of networking opportunities and social events. Early bird rates for registration begin at 475 euros.
Akabusi won three Olympic medals, a sliver in 1984 and two bronze in 1992. He also captured three World and European Championships.
In 1990, he won gold at the European Championships in the 400 meter hurdles and set a British record that still stands. Akabusi also helped Team GB set their national record on the 4x400 meter relay at the 1991 World Championships.
Akabusi was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 1992. Since retiring from competition, he has been a television host in Great Britain and motivational speaker.
