Ten Microsoft stores across the country celebrated the release of Windows 10 with special meet and greets last week. A trio from the recent World Cup champion U.S. women’s national team helped graced a few of the events.
Abby Wambach turned up at the store in Garden City, New York, Megan Rapinoe headlined the festivities in Bellevue, Washington, and Ali Krieger appeared at the Tysons Corner Center store right outside the Washington D.C. area. The three took pictures, signed autographs, and chatted it up with fans.
Wambach is one of the most storied players in American soccer history. Her 184 goals are the most in U.S. international competition history and she is a six-time U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year.
Rapinoe felt at home at the store celebration in Washington, where she competes professionally for the National Women’s Soccer League’s Seattle Reign. She has now played in two World Cups and won an Olympic gold medal in 2012.
As a native of the D.C. metro area and player with the Washington Spirit, Krieger also got the benefit of mingling with her hometown fans on behalf of Microsoft. She led the U.S. backline that held opponents scoreless for a record 540 minutes during the World Cup.
