Dick's Sporting Goods got one of the biggest sports stars in the history of Ohio to help with their Springfield store opening.  Two-time Heisman Trophy winer Archie Griffin makes an appearance on Sunday as part of the three-day grand opening celebration.

Griffin will be at the store from 2-4 p.m. signing autographs and posing for photos.  There are a wide variety of other activities over the three days that kicked off Friday morning. 

Those in line early on Friday and Saturday get the opportunity to open the Dick's Sports Goods Gift Locker.  They are also handing out mystery gift cards each day. 

Griffin is arguably the most iconic player in Ohio State history and the only two-time Heisman winner in the country.  While in Columbus, the Buckeyes won four straight Big 10 titles and he became the first player to start in four Rose Bowls. 

In addition to the Heisman hardware, Griffin was a two-time Big 10 Most Valuable Player, three-time first-team All-Big 10 performer and three-time first-team All-American.  

The Cincinnati Bengals selected Griffin in the first round of the 1976 NFL Draft and he played seven seasons with the franchise.  In retirement, he became a business success and serves as the CEO and President of The Ohio State University Alumni Association.
