Two-time Super Bowl champion Nate Washington got to go home this week. He was the keynote speaker at the Tiffin University Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration.
Washington is an alum of Tiffin and a Toledo, Ohio native. There were hundreds in attendance to hear his talk about the process of a dream.
Washington also discussed how people can keep track of their goals through encouragement and inspiration. He is hoping that his message can inspire grassroots change.
Washington holds eight receiving records at Tiffin, but went undrafted out of the school in 2005. He went on to spend four years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and win two Super Bowls.
Washington had the greatest success of his career with the Tennessee Titans. He had a career year in 2011, catching 74 passes for 1,023 yards and seven touchdowns.
Washington played in 148 consecutive games during his NFL career. He spent one final season with the Houston Texans in 2015 and currently does work with his 85th Foundation.
