WNBA star Ivory Latta returned on Thursday to where her basketball journey began. She was on hand at the Upper Palmetto YMCA in Rock Hill, South Carolina for a book signing.
Latta autographed copies of her new children's book, "Despite the Height." The book was initially released in March and it teaches kids to ignore height as an obstacle.
The book took her four years to finish. In addition to signing books, Latta was able to take pictures and talk with many of the kids who were assembled.
Latta has scored almost 3,400 points in her 11-year WNBA career. She ranks tenth on the league's all-time three-point field goal percentage list.
Latta plays for the Washington Mystics and made back-to-back WNBA All-Star appearances with the franchise in 2013 and 2014. She has also played for the Detroit Shock, Atlanta Dream and Tulsa Shock.
Latta was the 2006 ACC Player of the Year and has her jersey retired at the University of North Carolina. She remains the state of South Carolina's all-time leading scorer in high school with 4,319 points.
