After taking UAB to the NCAA Tournament in his third season, Blazers head coach Jerod Haase has become a hot name in Alabama.  On Thursday, Haase will speak in front of the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Their May luncheon sponsored by Cadence Bank will be held at the Trussville Civic Center and cost $17.  Networking begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch at noon. 

Haase will take the floor at 12:30 p.m.   After three seasons with the Blazers, he has transformed them back into a winner.

In 2014-15, UAB went 20-16.  The 14-seeded Blazers also upset third-seed Iowa State in the first round of March Madness. 

Haase is 54-46 in his head coaching career.  Prior to arriving in Birmingham, he spent time as an assistant under Roy Williams at Kansas and North Carolina. 

Haase played collegiately at California and Kansas.  In his final collegiate season, he was a starter on a Jayhawks team that featured four future NBA players in the starting 5 and went 34-2.
