With an upcoming title defense and Ronda Rousey on leave from the mixed martial arts world, the spotlight is completely on Holly Holm right now. The UFC women's bantamweight champion is capitalizing as well, inking an endorsement deal with Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals this week.
Holm appealed to the sports nutrition and supplement company for the supreme care she takes of her body. She agreed to a multiyear pact with Hi-Tech.
There is no telling how much traction Holm can now gain in the endorsement world. Her marketability will continue to grow with each win and certainly explode prior to her eventual rematch with Rousey.
Holm ascended to her place atop the MMA world with the November second round knockout of the UFC's biggest star. A record breaking crowd of 56,214 people were on hand in Melbourne, Australia and the event reportedly generated the third highest pay-per-view buys in organization history.
Now a perfect 10-0 in MMA, Holm has been called the greatest female athlete in combat sports history by former UFC champion Jon Jones. Before she toiled in the Octagon, she compiled a pro boxing record of 33-2 and was a mutiple-time world champion.
Holm also was named Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year twice in 2005 and 2006. Her next fight is against Meisha Tate on the co-main event of UFC 197 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
