North Carolina coach Roy Williams is on the top of the college basketball world after his Tar Heels claimed another national championship. That made it the perfect time for UNC-Wilmington to announce him as the speaker for their Basketball Tip-Off Dinner in September.
Williams will address attendees at the Burney Center on September 21st. Ticket information for the second annual event will be revealed at a later date.
Individuals are expected to be able to register around mid-July. It should be a great evening with the opportunity to hear from one of coachings living legends.
Williams ranks seventh in Division 1 history with 817 career victories. He started his head coaching career by taking Kansas to 14 straight NCAA Tournaments in 15 years.
The Jayhawks advanced to four Final Fours under his watch. In 2003, Williams came to his alma mater, UNC, and the program has since won three national titles.
He ranks second at Kansas and North Carolina in coaching victories. Williams is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame and College Basketball Hall of Fame.
