Three-time National Championship coach Urban Meyer stepped away from the sidelines this winter, but he is still keeping an active schedule of events. Most recently, he was named as an analyst for Fox Sports and on the heels of that announcement, he will be speaking at Grambling State.
Meyer will be keynoting a special event to honor legendary coach Eddie Robinson on what would have been his 100th birthday. The celebration, "Legacy Keepers: Preserving the Eddie Robinson Playbook," has been planned in conjunction by Grambling's athletic department and the Eddie G. Robinson Museum.
Admission is free and open to the public. A large crowd is expected to attend to pay tribute to Robinson and hear thoughtful remarks from Meyer.
Meyer put a great endnote on his legendary career by leading Ohio State to the Big Ten Championship and a Rose Bowl victory. In seven years with the Buckeyes, he racked up an 83-9 record and won the 2014 College Football National Championship.
Meyer won his first two national titles during a six-year run at the University of Florida. He came to the Gators after leading the University of Utah to a 22-2 record over two years while winning back-to-back Mountain West Coach of the Year awards.
Meyer began his coaching career at Bowling Green. He still works at Ohio State as an assistant athletic director.
