One of the rising stars in American swimming, Michael Chadwick has a new sponsor partnership. He has signed an endorsement deal with the global financial services firm, Barings. 

Chadwick is a Charlotte, North Carolina native and Barings is headquartered in the city. That mutual connection made the deal a natural fit for both sides. 

Barings stands to get maximum return on the pact since it extends through the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. They already boast a global presence, with over 600 employees spread across offices in 16 countries. 

Chadwick has had a banner 2017 after posting a career-best time in the 100-meter freestyle at the U.S. National Championships. He was a member of Team USA at the 2017 Worlds and helped the squad win a gold medal in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay. 

Chadwick initially made his international debut at the 2016 FINA World Swimming Championships and won medals in four relay events. His standout swimming career began at the University of Missouri, where he was a 22-time All-American. 

Chadwick set school records in the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley. As a senior at the NCAA Championships, he finished second in the 100 freestyle and fourth in the 50 freestyle.
