One of the most popular members of the U.S. women's national soccer team made an appearance in her home state this weekend. Tobin Heath was on hand on behalf of Procter & Gamble at ShopRite in Cedar Knolle, New Jersey.
From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Heath signed autographs and posed for photos. She as particularly promoting P&G's #GoldenFuture initiative.
The line to meet Heath curled around the building. Those who purchase Procter & Gamble products at ShopRite help fund scholarships for 250 kids to her camp following the Olympics this summer.
Heath is in active preparations for the chase of another gold medal with Team USA in Rio. She helped the squad to gold at both the 2008 and 2012 Games.
Last year, Heath also won World Cup gold with the U.S. and scored a goal in the final against Japan. She originally debuted for the national team in 2008 and was named 2009 U.S. Soccer Young Female Athlete of the Year.
On the club side, Heath plays for the Portland Thorns. She won a National Women's Soccer League championship with the team in 2013 and was named MVP of the title game.
