This weekend, Utah Jazz legend Darrell Griffith returned to where he dominated on the basketball court. He was at the Jazz's game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday for an appearance.
Griffith started the festivities by hosting a Q&A on Utah's Twitter account from 4:45-5:15 p.m. He also participated in a ceremony that recognized 2018 Slam Dunk Contest champion Donovan Mitchell.
Mitchell's Slam Dunk Contest trophy was also on display pregame. Many longtime Jazz fans had a fun time interacting with Griffith.
Griffith played his entire 12-year career with the Jazz. After being a first-round pick in the 1980 NBA Draft, he went on to win the 1981 Rookie of the Year award.
Griffith also helped lead the Jazz to their first postseason appearance in 1984. He participated in the Slam Dunk Contest in 1984 and 1985.
Griffith has his #35 jersey retired by Utah. He currently serves as a special assistant to the president at his alma mater, the University of Louisville.
