There is no question that the Denver area is buzzing about Super Bowl 50.  To add a little more excietment, the Microsoft Store in Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree is holding a special event.  

Former Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker makes an appearance at the store tonight.  Welker will be taking photos with fans and signing autographs starting at 6:30 MST.  

The line will start at 5:30 and the famed wide receiver will be appearing from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Tickets to meet Welker will be limited to the first 200 fans to arrive. 

Welker spent the previous two seasons with Denver before playing for the St. Louis Rams this year.  He was particularly productive in his first Broncos season, catching 73 passes for 778 yards and ten touchdowns in 13 games.

It is the six seasons that Welker spent with the New England Patriots that he is most known for however.  With the Patriots, he was a five-time Pro Bowler, four-time All-Pro, and led the NFL in receptions on three occasions.

Welker has caught over 100 passes in five different seasons and is the New England franchise record holder in the category.  His story of reaching the pinnacle of his profession despite being an undrafted player out of Texas Tech is one of the most remarkable journeys in league history.
