Even at 22 years old, world number one golfer Jordan Spieth has entered the elite arena of athlete endorsers. Spieth added to his lofty list of endorsements this week by agreeing to a multiyear deal with Coca-Cola.
There is no financial information available about the pact other then it is one of the largest athlete deals ever done by the company. Spieth will appear on several platforms for Coca-Cola, including commercials, digital advertisements, and packaging.
He will also be featured on special Olympic Coke cans with the sport returning to the Games for the first time in 112 years. Spieth also boasts endorsement deals with AT&T, NetJets, Rolex, Titleist and Under Armour.
Golf Digest projected this week that Spieth made $53 million in total earnings in 2015. That figure knocked Tiger Woods off the magazine's top spot for the first time in 13 years.
Spieth truly dominated the golf world last year, winning five titles including the Masters, the U.S. Open and the Tour Championship. He was the second youngest golfer to capture the Masters after Woods and the youngest U.S. Open winner since Bobby Jones.
His Tour Championship victory sealed a win in the year-end FedEx Cup. Spieth was also the PGA Tour Player of the Year, Byron Nelson Award winner and captured the Vardon Trophy.
After winning two U.S. Junior Amateurs and being a first-team All-American as a freshman at the University of Texas, Spieth turned pro in 2013. In his first season, he became the PGA Tour's fourth-youngest winner, finished 11th on the money list, and was named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.
