World Series Hero David Ross Keynotes Red Cross Gala

World Series hero David Ross has been touring Illinois since the fall. On April 18th, he serves as the keynote speaker at the 24th annual American Red Cross Evening of Stars in Normal.

The event takes place at the Marriott Hotel & Conference Center at 7 p.m. Ross is there to help the Red Cross celebrate 100 years of service in Central Illinois.

Individual tickets to attend are $150. Proceeds benefit Red Cross disaster relief, military families assistance, blood collection and safety education.

Ross capped his career in grand style, with a home run in Game 7 of the World Series for the champion Chicago Cubs. During the season, he also caught his first career no-hitter from star pitcher Jake Arrieta

The Los Angeles Dodgers originally selected Ross in the 19th round of the 1995 MLB Draft. His 15-year major league career began with the club in 2002.

Ross won his first World Series with the Boston Red Sox in 2013. He is now a special assistant for baseball operations with the Cubs and a baseball analyst for ESPN.
