Wright State is hosting a special event to showcase their men and women's basketball programs. The Raider Tip-Off Premier will feature special guest speaker, Yahoo Sports writer Pat Forde. 

The third-annual event takes place on October 12th with a VIP reception at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. In addition to hearing from Forde, attendees will get some insights on the seasons from the Wright State coaches. 

About 200 people attended the Tip-Off Premier last year. General admission tickets are $70, VIP tickets are $115 and proceeds benefit the Raider Athletic Fund. 

Forde has spent the last six years covering college sports for Yahoo Sports. Previously, he built up a national following during seven years at ESPN. 

In addition to writing for ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine, Forde became a familiar presence across the network's television and radio platforms. He originally began his journalism career in 1987 at The Louisville Courier-Journal. 

Forde spent 17 years at the paper, first as a beat writer and later for 12 years as a columnist. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri Journalism School.
