This month, New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius will hold a youth camp for area fans.  The Citi Didi Gregorius Baseball ProCamp takes place on August 25th. 

It will be hosted at the Sports Underdome in Mount Vernon from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Boys and girls in grades 1-8 are eligible to attend. 

Registration for the camp is $119.  Campers will get a Gregorius autograph, team photo and camp t-shirt. 

Gregorius is currently having a breakout season in pinstripes.  He is hitting .288 with 13 home runs and 49 RBI and playing everyday at shortstop. 

The Yankees originally acquired Gregorius in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks prior to the 2015 season.  He played for the Diamondbacks in parts of two seasons after making his big league debut with the Cincinnati Reds in 2012. 

Gregorius has had a unique road to baseball stardom.  The Amsterdam native was signed as an international free agent in 2007.
