Charlie Batch had a unique road to the NFL that wove its way through Eastern Michigan and the Mid-American Conference. On Friday, he was announced as part of the newest class to be inducted into the MAC Hall of Fame. 

There six inductees in the Class fo 2018 including former MLB pitcher Orel Hershiser and NFL running back Michael Turner. They will be enshrined at the MAC Honor's Dinner at the Cleveland Renaissance Hotel on May 30. 

Batch is just the ninth Eastern Michigan athlete to be elected to the MAC Hall of Fame. He played quarterback for the Eagles from 1994-97 and still holds several school records. 

Batch was an All-MAC first-team selection in 1995 after leading the conference in passing efficiency. The Detroit Lions selected him in the second round of the 1998 NFL Draft and he embarked on a 15-year pro career. 

For four seasons, Batch was a starting quarterback with the Lions. He went on to spend over a decade with his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers and won two Super Bowl titles. 

Batch has continued to use his platform in retirement as a speaker and community advocate. He is also a pregame analyst for Steelers games on Pittsburgh's KDKA-TV.
