iPayment is bringing in a baseball great to speak at their Partner Conference next month. Baseball Hall of Famer Mike Piazza will keynote the event, which takes place May 24-25 at the W South Beach in Miami, Florida. 

iPayment provides payment and processing options for small and medium-sized businesses. The conference is in its 17th year and this year's theme is "Focus on the Future." 

Piazza has a natural tie to the company as Chairman of Company.com's Advisory Board, a partner of IPayment. In addition to his presentation, Electronic Transactions Association CEO Jason Oxman will speak to those in attendance. 

Piazza played 16 seasons in Major League Baseball and was a ten-time All-Star. He hit a record 396 of his 427 home runs as a catcher and won ten Silver Slugger Awards at the position. 

As a 62nd round pick of the 1988 MLB draft, Piazza is considered one of the great success stories in the history of baseball. Just four years later, he would debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers and go on to win National League Rookie of the Year honors. 

Piazza was runner-up for the NL MVP Award while with the Dodgers in 1998 and he helped the New York Mets reach the World Series in 2000. In addition to his Hall of Fame induction last year, he is also a member of the Mets Hall of Fame and has his number retired by the franchise.
