Athletes featured in the latest spot are the Houston Rockets’ James Harden, Los Angeles Angels’ Mike Trout, San Francisco Giants’ Buster Posey, New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski, Indianapolis Colts’ Andrew Luck, and the Seattle Seahawks Richard Sherman. Each of them are featuring a retro look and relaying the theme that other sports drinks are out of style.
It makes sense the company would partner with one of the hottest names in the NBA in Harden. He averaged a career-best 27.4 points in 2014-15, finished runner-up in MVP voting, and helped lead the Rockets to the Western Conference Finals.
Trout is almost universally regarded as the best player in baseball. He is the reigning American League MVP after finishing as runner-up for the award in 2012 and 2013.
If Trout is the best player in the game, then Posey is the best winner going today. In his brief career, he has led the Giants to three World Series titles and was National League MVP in 2012.
Gronkowski has been working with BodyArmor since 2012 as an endorser and investor. He is a three-time first-team All-Pro, one of the most popular athletes in the world, and is coming off his first Super Bowl win.
Many see Luck as the most physically gifted quarterback of his generation. He has yet to miss the playoffs or a Pro Bowl through his first three seasons and led the NFL with 40 touchdown passes in 2014.
Sherman is the iconic face of the Seattle Seahawks “Legion of Boom” defense. No player has more interceptions since the reigning NFC Defensive Player of the Year entered the league.
