November 8th brings an exciting hockey exhibition to Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. The Haggar Hockey Hall of Fame Legends Classic is a special part of the Hall’s induction weekend.
Former NHL stars Pavel Bure (2012 inductee) and Doug Gilmour (2011 inductee) will captain these elite squads. The teams feature a combined 17 Hall of Famers and nine NHL captains.
Players on both rosters have won 32 Stanley Cup rings. Other standouts making an appearance included 2015 inductees Sergei Fedorov, Niklas Lidstrom, Chris Pronger, and Angela Ruggiero.
First puck drops at 3:00 on that Sunday. Tickets are available via the Hockey Hall of Fame or through Ticketmaster.
Bure was an electrifying scorer during his 12 NHL seasons, pacing the league in goals three times. He is fourth all-time in goals per game.
Bure was selected to seven NHL All-Star teams. He is considered one of the greatest players in the history of two franchises, the Vancouver Canucks and the Florida Panthers.
Despite checking in at 5’10”, there are not many better two-way players in league history than Gilmour. The two-time All-Star won the Frank J. Selke Trophy as hockey’s best defensive forward in 1992-93 and scored 1,414 points in 1,474 games.
Gilmour was a key piece to the Calgary Flames 1989 Stanley Cup championship team, scoring 22 points in the playoffs. He also is revered by the Toronto Maple Leafs franchise and has his #95 jersey honored by the club.
