There is no question that several Cleveland Cavaliers players have been taking their championship victory laps around the city and region.  Last Thursday, some lucky Macy's customers got the opportunity to interact with forward Tristan Thompson.

Thompson held an autograph signing at the Summit Mall store in Fairlawn, Ohio.  Following the stores 10 a.m. opening, the first 200 customers that spent at least $25 on Cavs merchandise were invited to the 6 p.m. session. 

They could receive Thompson's autograph on whatever item they purchased.  No outside memorabilia was allowed. 

Thompson was vital on the defensive end as Cleveland overcame the odds to end the city's 52-year professional sports title drought.  He averaged 6.7 points and 9 rebounds per game during the playoffs while often serving as a valuable perimeter defender. 

The 2016 season also proved special for Thompson for another reason.  In March, he broke a franchise record by appearing in 362 consecutive games. 

Thompson was originally selected with the fourth pick of the 2011 NBA Draft.  He has spent alll five NBA seasons with the Cavaliers and plans to play for Canada this summer in the Olympics.
