Several basketball luminaries are descending upon Charlotte, North Carolina next week for a coaches clinic. The BasketballCoach.com: Nike Championship Basketball Clinic takes place September 29th-October 1st.
The biggest name speaking to attendees at Providence Day School is college basketball legend Bob Knight. He will speak on September 30th and the title of his presentation is "Practice Determines Winning and Losing."
Some of the other standout guests include University of Florida coach Mike White, Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner and former NBA coach Mike Fratello. Registration is $155 in advance and $185 on-site.
Knight ranks second in Division 1 men's basketball history with 902 victories. He won many of those games at Indiana, where he served as the head coach from 1971-2000 and won three national championships.
In 1976, led the Hoosiers to the only undefeated season in major college basketball history. Knight's teams won 11 Big Ten Conference titles and he was the eight-time Big Ten Coach of the Year.
Knight got his first head coaching opportunity at Army. He also served as the head coach at Texas Tech from 2001-08.
