Getting into the Hall of Fame as a wide receiver is no easy task.  While the pool of qualified candidates is large, there is no question that Marvin Harrison has been near the top of that list since he was first eligible for induction in 2014.  

Harrison received at least 80 percent of the vote neccessary to be a member of the eight person 2016 class.  He will also be joined in the Hall by his longtime coach, Tony Dungy.

The class will be officially inducted on August 6th in Canton, Ohio.  Harrison will certainly be one of the standard bearers elected for the next generation of wide receivers.  

Harrison spent 13 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and went to eight Pro Bowls.  He was a three-time first-team All-Pro and currently ranks third in receptions, five in receiving touchdowns, and seventh in yards. 

In 2008, Harrison retired with 1,102 catches for 14,580 yards and 128 touchdowns.  He led the NFL in receiving yards and receptions twice.  

Harrison was a member of the NFL All-Decade Team of the 2000s.  He was inducted into the Colts Ring of Honor in 2011.
