The All American Amateur Baseball Association is inducting a new class into their Hall of Fame on August 5th. Former major league third baseman Richie Hebner will speak at the event. 

It takes place at the Pasquerilla Conference Center in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Festivities begin with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. 

Over 300 tickets have been sold for the event with an expected attendance in the 500-600 range. Hebner will discuss his career and the state of baseball today. 

Hebner spent 18 seasons in the big leagues and spent the first half of his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He debuted with the club in 1968 and hit .301. 

Hebner helped the Pirates win the World Series in 1971 and hit two home critical runs in the National League Championship Series. Two years later, he hit a career-high 25 home runs. 

Hebner went on to play for several other franchises before retiring in 1985 and going into coaching. He had several stints as a coach and manager in the minor leagues and spent time as a major league batting coach with the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies.
