Former Clemson Coach Danny Ford Named Guest Speaker at Lewisville Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet

Former Clemson coach Danny Ford has been announced as a guest speaker for the Lewisville Athletic Hall of Fame banquet at the Conference Center at the Gateway in Richburg on April 11. The event will start at 6 p.m. and will be recognizing the second class of hall of fame inductees in Lewisville, including its 1985 state championship baseball team. In addition to that, you can purchase tickets for $15 at the school’s front office to participate in their silent auction which will also happen during the banquet. Ford will be talking to the athletes and their guests about life, sports, and tell stories from his exciting and unique career.

The 1981 Coach of the Year played college football for the University of Alabama between the years of 1967 to 1969 before becoming a coach for his university in 1973, then for Virginia Tech during 1974-1976. Ford is most well-known for his years with Clemson University where he spent 12 years working with the school’s football team. In 1981 he led them to the national championship and he achieved a few awards for this game such as the AFCA, ACC, and Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year.

Ford will be speaking at the banquest hosed by Lewisville High school at the Conference Center at the Gateway next month to assist in the inductions for this year’s hall of famers.
