Former Clemson Football Coach Danny Ford Speaks at Orangeburg Touchdown Club

Former Clemson coach Danny Ford has made many visits to Orangeburg, South Carolina. He was in town again on Thursday speaking at the Orangeburg Touchdown Club. 

The weekly meeting was held at The Cinema. Ford shared many stories from his career and reflected fondly on his time at Clemson. 

He also shared his thoughts on the current state of college football. While the club will not meet next week, there will be a meeting on November 9th with former wide receiver Sterling Sharpe. 

Ford spent 12 seasons with the Tigers and the program won five Atlantic Coast Conference championships. They reached the highlight of his tenure in 1981, when they went undefeated, won the Orange Bowl and were named consensus national champions. 

Ford also coached the University of Arkansas from 1993-97 and won the Southeastern Conference West Division in 1995. He retired with an overall record of 122-59-5. 

Ford began his career coaching the offensive line at his alma mater, the University of Alabama. This year, he was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.
