Michigan Football is pulling out all the stops for their signing day event next week. Former Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard will be just one of the dignitaries on campus to celebrate with the Wolverines.
The "Signing of the Stars" event will be held from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. at Hill Auditorium on Wednesday, February 3rd. The invitation-only event was put together in conjunction with The Players' Tribune and will be encouraging donations to the Chad Tough Foundation.
A live stream for the fesitivties on The Players Tribune website will also be available for those not lucky enough to go. In addtion to Howard, former Michigan star Denard Robinson, legendary coach Lou Holtz, and NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski are just a few of the other luminaries who will be in attendance to announced the class.
Howard may be the most celebrated Michigan football player of all-time. In 1991, he won the Heisman Trophy, Walter Camp Award, Maxwell Award, and was named UPI Player of the Year.
That season, he led the Big 10 in scoring with 138 points and before his collegiate career was over, he had set or tied five NCAA and 12 Michigan records. Howard was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2011 and has his number retired by the Wolverines.
Howard also became one of the greatest return men in NFL history and was MVP of Super Bowl XXXI. He is now beloved across the country as an analyst on the critically acclaimed ESPN College Gameday.
