The seven Kentucky Wildcats departing for the NBA will finally have a chance to capitalize on the fame they accrued while playing for the basketball powerhouse.
Twins Aaron and Andrew Harrison signed autographs on Monday at the Outlet Shops of Bluegrass in Simpsonville, Kentucky. Former UK big man Willie Cauley-Stein followed them on Tuesday.
Each of the Harrison twins autographs cost $20. Cauley-Stein fetched $35 for a poster and an autograph.
All three players will be remembered for taking part in one of the greatest periods of Kentucky basketball. They played on a 2013-14 team that made it to the NCAA Championship game and had a perfect regular season the following year.
Aaron Harrison hit two game-winning threes during the Wildcats run through March Madness in 2014. Coming into 2015, he was named the preseason SEC Player of the Year.
Andrew Harrison has teamed with his brother in the backcourt at Kentucky for two seasons. The brothers were both McDonald’s All-Americans coming out of high school in 2013.
Cauley-Stein was a first-team consensus All-American and All-SEC pick in 2015. He also was awarded the SEC Defensive Player of the Year trophy.
In addition to that trio departing Lexington, Dakari Johnson, Devin Booker, Trey Lyles, and Karl-Anthony Towns also filed paperwork for the NBA Draft. As things get closer to the June draft, expect to see even more opportunities for this septet of former Kentucky stars.
