This past week, former Baltimore Ravens fullback Brendon Ayanbadejo was back in a competition of sorts. His appearance on American Ninja Warrior aired May 25th.
He was challenged to participate in the obstacle course show by fellow NFL alumni and American Ninja Warrior host Akbar Gbajabiamila.
Ayanbadejo is known as much for his life off the field as he is for his on-field accomplishments. As a special teams player, he was a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro.
Ayanbadejo also won a Super Bowl in his final NFL season with the Ravens. He achieved much in football despite being an undrafted player out of UCLA.
Now in retirement, Ayanbadejo speaks out on behalf of some of the issues he started advancing as a player. He is noted for his civil rights work and support of the LGBT community.
Being the product of interracial parents has had a profound effect on the causes Ayanbadejo fights for. He still has a platform to talk about football as well as an analyst for Fox Sports 1.
