Figure skating legend Nancy Kerrigan had a busy day last Thursday in Albany, New York. She made a series of appearances to promote the promote the international women's sports festival, the Aurora Games.
Kerrigan participated in an hour question and answer session with the Albany Times Union at the Hearst Media Center that was attended by approximately 150 people. She talked about the current state of figure skating, doled out tips for young athletes and addressed several other topics.
Kerrigan also made an afternoon appearance at the Empire State Plaza Ice Rink to sign autographs and pose for photos. The Aurora Games will take over the town August 20-25 at the Times Union Center.
Kerrigan is one of the most decorated American figure skaters of all-time. She was a bronze medalist at the 1992 Olympics and silver medal winner at the 1994 Olympics.
Kerrigan also won medals at the 1991 and 1992 World Championships. She was the 1993 U.S. National champion.
After retiring from competition, Kerrigan toured for years with shows like Champions on Ice and Broadway on Ice. She is a member of the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame.
