Annika Sorenstam has been a pioneer in many facets for women in the golf world. She will talk about the next steps that need to be taken as part of the Columbus State University Girls in the Game Advance Initiative. 

Sorenstam is heading to the school on November 1st to speak at a luncheon and free golf clinic. She is connected to Columbus through the Fred Haskins Commission, which gives the top female collegiate golfer an award named after Sorenstam. 

The golf clinic at Burger King Stadium will follow the 11:30 a.m. luncheon at the Frank G. Lumpkin Center. The Girls in the Game Advance Initiative was originally started in 2015. 

Sorenstam won 72 events on the LPGA Tour and ten major titles. She ranks as the top money winner in the history of the LPGA Tour with over $22 million in earnings. 

Sorenstam has a record eight LPGA Player of the Year trophies. In 2003, she became the first woman since 1945 to play in an event on the PGA Tour. 

Sorenstam was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2008 and officially retired in 2008. She remains active in the game through golf course design and partnership with Cutter & Buck.
