Lin signed a two-year deal with the Hornets this offseason. He will look to provide depth behind star Kemba Walker.
There are not many more unique basketball stories over the last few years than that of Lin’s. The undrafted former Harvard standout exploded onto the scene in 2012 with the New York Knicks, inciting “Linsanity”.
No player since the 1976-77 season has scored more in his first five games than the 186 points he notched that season. In 12 games before the All-Star break, Lin averaged 22.5 points and 8.7 assists as the Knicks went 9-3.
Following his time in New York, Lin went on to play two seasons with the Houston Rockets. He spent last year with the Los Angeles Lakers, starting 30 games while averaging 11.2 points and 4.6 assists per game.
