When the latest Pro Football Hall of Fame class was announced this weekend, there was little doubt that one name at least would be on the list.  Iconic quarterback Brett Favre became the 14th signal caller to be a first-ballot inductee. 

To be selected, Favre received at least 80 percent of the vote.  He is clearly the headliner in an eight-person class that also includes luminaries from his era like former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison and St. Louis Rams offensive tackle Orlando Pace. 

Favre and the rest of the 2016 class will go into the Hall officially on August 6th in Canton, Ohio.  It will certainly be a special day for everyone involved.  

Favre transcended football due to the exciting way he played the quarterback position and his admirable record 297 games started streak.  When he retired, he held NFL records for attempts, completions, yards, and passing touchdowns. 

In the mid-1990's, Favre won three consecutive MVPs.  He won eight division titles during his career and led the Packers to victory in Super Bowl XXXI.

The 11-time Pro Bowler was a three-time first-team All-Pro.  Last July, he returned to Green Bay to have his $4 jersey retired at Lambeau Field.
