Later this month, LPGA star Paula Creamer will give back to lucky golf enthusiasts before the CoBank Colorado Women's Open starts up. On August 29th, she will take part in a junior clinic at the site of the tournament, Green Valley Ranch.
Over 250 girls from the ages of 5-18 will attend. They will come from The First Tee chapters all around the state as well as several youth organizations in the Denver area.
The junior clinics were kickstarted this year with the help of new tournament title sponsor CoBank. Prior to the Champions Tour event, World Golf Hall of Famer Hale Irwin participated and before the PGA Tour teed off Ryan Palmer leant his expertise to a clinic.
Creamer is a ten-time winner on the LPGA Tour. She has risen to as high as second in the Women's World Golf Rankings and captured a major victory at the 2010 U.S. Women's Open.
Creamer ranks ninth all-time on the LPGA career money list with over $11 million in earnings. She first joined the tour in 2005 and became the second youngest winner ever with her triumph at the Sybase Classic.
That year, Creamer also won LPGA Rookie of the Year and became the youngest player to ever earn a spot on the U.S. Solheim Cup team. Before turning pro, she was a standout junior, winning 19 national tournaments.
