Ndamukong Suh has been an avid financial supporter of his alma mater, the University of Nebraska, since shortly after cashing in on NFL millions. Now, Suh is investing in the Huskers brand yet again in a whole new way.
The university’s Board of Regents approved an agreement with the standout defensive tackle’s company, TFL Development LLC. to purchase space that will hold a Nike store. The store will be in the same downtown Lincoln space that once housed Nebraska Bookstore.
It is an interesting development considering that Nebraska has been an Adidas school since 1995. Suh, however, signed an endorsement deal with Nike when he started his NFL career in 2010.
Suh has been varying his business interests since signing a six-year, $114 million deal with the Miami Dolphins this spring. TFL Development is just one of six companies he has started.
It is on the field though where Suh is noted for his accomplishments. During his first five seasons with the Detroit Lions, he went to four Pro Bowls and was also named to the All-Pro first-team four times.
For the Huskers, Suh was one of the most dominant players in recent college football history. During his senior year, he swept almost every major national defensive award and led a Nebraska unit that ranked first in the country in scoring defense.
