Super Bowl fever has already hit Minneapolis the hometown Vikings are still alive to be the first team to ever appear in the game at their home stadium. With the excitement high, a huge turnout greeted former franchise great John Randle at an appearance last night.
Randle visited the NFL Store in the Mall of America for a meet and greet. He signed autographs and reminisced with fans from 6-7 p.m.
Each attendee was allowed to have two pieces of memorabilia autographed. In the coming days, expect several more NFL greats to make their way through the NFL Store to get the city ready for the big game.
Randle is known as one of the greatest defensive tackles in league history. He was a seven-time Pro Bowler and six-time All-Pro in a career that spanned 14 seasons.
Randle became a premier player at his position despite going undrafted in 1990. He is tied for ninth in NFL history with 137.5 sacks and led the league in the category in 1997.
Randle spent the final three seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks before retiring. He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, College Football Hall of Fame, Texas Sports Hall of Fame and the Minnesota Vikings Ring of Honor.
