The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals have some added starpower on their appearance list this year.  NASCAR legend Richard Petty will be at the event on Saturday, July 16th.

The show runs July 15-17 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.  There will be over 2,500 vehicles from all eras of Chrysler along with loads of interactive exhibits and expert presentations. 

Petty will attend a free autograph signing and photograph taking opportunity in the afternoon on Saturday.  An all-event pass costs $25 while individual passes for Thursday-Saturday are $12 and a Sunday pass is $7.

There are not many drivers in NASCAR history that connect with the fans better than Petty.  He won a record 200 career races and captured the series championship on seven occasions. 

Petty is also well known for winning the sports' preeminent race, the Daytona 500, a record seven times.  He posted over 700 top ten finishes in his 1,184 career starts. 

In 2010, Petty was an inaugural member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame.  He has also been inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America.
