While New York Mets’ ace Matt Harvey may have had a year of his major league career wiped out due to Tommy John Surgery, his star has not fallen in the slightest. On May 27th, Harvey will be at the Steiner Sports store in the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York for a signing.
Harvey will be available that evening at the store from 6:00-7:30. Autographs on balls or photos are $199, signatures on equipment will run $169, and inscriptions are $50.
After missing all of 2014, Harvey is back to familiar form so far in 2015. He is currently 5-1 with a 2.31 ERA in seven starts.
Harvey really exploded onto the scene as a 24-year-old in 2013, winning National League Player of the Month in April that season. He was selected to the All-Star team and finished 9-5 with a 2.27 ERA and 191 strikeouts in 178.1 innings.
During his first Mets start in July of 2012, Harvey struck out 11 in 5.1 innings. He was originally the seventh overall pick of the 2010 MLB Draft out of North Carolina.
With more of the same so far from Harvey in 2015, another All-Star selection could be on the horizon. If the Mets continue to contend as well, his autograph will certainly be in high demand.
