NFL Legend LaDainian Tomlinson Hosts Youth Camp at TCU

One could almost say that during a distinguished college career, LaDainian Tomlinson kicked off a historic run for TCU football.  Tomlinson was back at his school last week to host his annual youth football camp.

The three-day Elite Performance Football Clinic gave kids in grades 6-11 advanced training in all aspects of the game.   Players’ families also got tips on the college recruiting process and each camper was taught values they could carry with them off the field.

This camp was just part of the larger LaDainian Tomlinson Preparatory Academy that does this type of work year-round out of Fort Worth.

It is a special year for Tomlinson, who goes into the San Diego Chargers’ Hall of Fame and will get his number #21 jersey retired by the franchise in the fall.  Over an 11-year career, he rushed for 13,684 yards and 145 touchdowns.

The five-time Pro Bowler was also the 2006 NFL MVP.  Tomlinson lead the league in rushing twice and stands fifth place on the all-time yardage list.

His career as a Horned Frog was just as exceptional.  Tomlinson led the NCAA in rushing twice and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
