New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been defying the odds and accomplishing goals his entire career.  On Saturday, July 18th he experienced another first, hosting his inaugural youth camp. 

The Julian Edelman Football Clinic was put on by ProCamps at Reading Memorial High School and ran from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Campers got the opportunity to be instructed in the fundamentals of football, take a team photo, and get an autograph from Edelman.

The camp received tremendous support from the community, with sponsors of the event including Citi, SunnyD, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England.  For those in attendance, there could not have been a better teacher to learn from than Edelman.

He has worked his way up from being a seventh round pick to a vital piece of the defending champion Patriots.  Edelman caught the go-ahead touchdown in Super Bowl XLIX and led all receivers with 109 yards on nine catches.

In each of the past two seasons, he has caught at least 90 passes and accumulated over 900 yards.  Edelman was recently ranked 91st on the NFL’s annual list of their top 100 players.
