With the NFL almost ready to kick off again, there is no shortage of companies looking to gain exposure through partnerships with the league’s stars.  One such pact exists between sports apparel company PUMA and New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman.

Edelman recently had a PUMA spot drop that aired prominently during ESPN’s SportsCenter.  The commercial can now be seen around the country. 

The ad titled “Training” shows Edelman doing a variety of activities decked out in PUMA gear.  It fits with the “Workhorse” moniker he has received among the stable of the company’s endorsers.

In addition to Edelman, PUMA features fellow NFL pros Jamaal Charles, Jadeveon Clowney, and Cordarrelle Patterson.  They also have other star athletes like golfer Rickie Fowler, sprinter Usain Bolt, and international soccer standout Mario Balotelli. 

Playing with legendary quarterback Tom Brady has made Edelman one of football’s most known receivers.  He has backed up that acclaim on the field, most recently catching nine passes for 109 yards and the go-ahead touchdown as the Patriots won Super Bowl XLIX.

Coming into 2015, Edelman ranked 91st on the NFL’s list of Top 100 Players.  In each of the past two seasons, he has caught at least 90 passes and gone for over 900 yards. 

After being drafted in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Kent State, Edelman has had an impressive rise to the top.  He has worked his way from being a special teams ace and occasional passing target to one of the most reliable pass catchers in the game today.
