Retired NBA All-Star Ray Allen played on some of the greatest teams of all time. He has a career packed with stories and is telling them all for the first time with his memoir, "From the Outside: My Journey Through Life and the Game I Love." 

The book will officially hit shelves March 27, but excerpts are already being talked about by the media. Allen shares insights into some of the legendary teammates he played for while winning championships with the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat.

He also talks about his work ethic and what it takes to have a long NBA career. Allen will soon start promoting the book, with appearances already scheduled for Northvale, New Jersey on March 27 and Boston on March 28. 

Allen was a ten-time All-Star and one of the greatest three-point shooters in league history. He holds the NBA record for most three-pointers made in the regular season and postseason. 

In 1996, Allen was named the Big East Player of the Year and a consensus first-team All-American at the University of Connecticut. He was selected with the fifth overall pick in the NBA Draft and he went on to be named to the All-NBA Second Team in 2001 with the Milwaukee Bucks. 

Allen was later named to the 2005 All-NBA Third Team while playing with the Seattle Sonics. He also represented his country, taking home a gold medal with Team USA at the 2000 Olympics.
