NBA point guard Darren Collison is bringing his basketball camp back for the fifth straight year. It will run from June 8-11 at Collison’s alma mater, Etiwanda High School in California.
There is a morning session (9:00 a.m-12:30 p.m.) for 3rd-5th grade campers and the afternoon timeframe (12:00-3:30 p.m.) caters to 6th-8th grade students. The camp costs $100 per person and focuses on the fundamentals of basketball.
Collison just wrapped up his sixth NBA season and first with the Sacramento Kings. He had inked a new three-year, $16 million contract with the Kings in the offseason.
After averaging 16.1 points through the first 45 games of the 2014-15 season, Collison was primed for a career year before an injury robbed him from lacing it up for the second half. Over his career, he has averaged 12.4 points and 5.0 assists per game.
Before landing in Sacramento, Collison spent time with four other NBA teams. As a rookie with the New Orleans Hornets, he was named to the All-Rookie First-Team and finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting.
Collison is perhaps best known for his collegiate career at UCLA. The 142 games he played are tied for the most in Bruins history and he was a part of the winningest class in school history.
