With the NFL schedule underway, companies are cashing in on the in-season marketability of the league’s stars. One such ad could be caught across social media this weekend with new Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham staring in a spot for Powerade.
The commercial was part of Powerade’s larger “Just a Kid” campaign. It chronicled some of the tough circumstances Graham had to encounter to reach the pinnacle of his sport.
Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose already took part in a Just a Kid ad. There is also an online store where people can purchase customized apparel that benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Graham caught a touchdown in his Seattle debut Sunday in an overtime loss to the St. Louis Rams. The three-time Pro Bowler is expected to be a huge part of the passing game and Russell Wilson’s primary target.
He played his first five seasons with the New Orleans Saints after being a third round pick in 2010. Graham remarkably only played one season of college football at the University of Miami after spending the majority of his time on campus as a basketball player.
