Team USA gymnastics ace Danell Leyva is fresh off furthering his stardom this summer at the Olympics. He will impart some tips on November 9th at the Danell Leyva Gymnastics ProCamp.
The camp runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Maryland Twisters in Hanover. Boys and girls in grades 1-8 are eligible to attend.
Registration for the event is $49. In addition to the expert instruction, attendees will receive a Leyva autograph, team photo and camp t-shirt.
Leyva won silver medals on the parallel bars and horizontal bar in Rio. That follows his impressive bronze medal showing in the all-around in 2012.
Leyva has also won five medals at the World Championships, including a gold on parallel bars in 2011. He originally became a member of the U.S. senior national team in 2009 and was the youngest person on the squad.
As a junior, he won the world title in 2008 in four events. Leyva grew up in Miami, Florida and his mother and stepfather were both former members of Cuba's national gymnastics team.
