As the Dallas Cowboys longest-tenured star, tight end Jason Witten is one of the top athlete role models for kids growing up in Texas. He will in the Texoma area on June 11 as the featured speaker at the All-Texomaland All Star Preps Award Banquet.
Witten will share a motivational and inspirational message with the student-athletes assembled. Over 300 outstanding performers from Grayson, Fannin and Collin counties were recognized.
The event takes place from 6-9 p.m. at the Texoma Event Center. General admission tickets will be available for $50 when they go on sale to the public.
Witten is an 11-time Pro Bowler and a six-time All-Pro. He ranks second in NFL history among tight ends in receiving yards and receptions.
Witten has played for the Cowboys since 2003 and his 11 Pro Bowl nominations tie the franchise record set by Bob Lilly. He also holds almost all of the team's significant receiving records.
Off the field, Witten is one of the most charitable players in the NFL. He was named Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year in 2012 and his Jason Witten's SCORE Foundation works against domestic violence.
