Everyone knows how determined Maria Sharapova is on the tennis court, but there is similarly no quit in her off the court as well. Sharapova started a personal gummy line, Sugarpova, in 2012 and now the brand is ready to expand.
According to Forbes, Sugarpova will now tackle the chocolate industry. The move is expected to triple sales of her candy to $20 million annually.
Sharapova spent 15 months looking for the right chocolate maker to partner with. The new product will go on sale shortly prior to May's French Open.
Sharapova is currently ranked sixth in the world and is still one of the most dominating players in the singles game. She most recently made it to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open before ultimately being ousted by tournament runner-up, Serena Williams.
Overall, Sharapova has five Grand Slam singles titles to her credit and is one of just ten ladies to capture the career Grand Slam. She has won 32 WTA singles titles and one each year from 2003-2015.
Sharapova seems built for business success after tennis as well. In addition to her work with Sugarpova, she still boasts lucrative endorsement deals with companies like Nike, Tag Heuer, and Avon.
