Tight End Greg Olsen Hosts the 12th Annual Kicks for a Cure in Chicago

This Saturday, Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is heading back to one of his former NFL cities to contribute to a great cause.  In conjunction with his charity, Receptions for Research, Olsen is hosting the 12th Annual Kicks for a Cure in Chicago.

Kicks for a Cure is the largest charity kickball tournament in the world.  It will be at Grant Park and over 1,600 people are expected to compete in teams.

Three top fundraising teams get slotted to play against Olsen.  Several of the top individual fundraisers also get signed memorabilia from the eight-year pro.

Olsen’s Receptions for Research foundation works to provide for breast cancer research.  His mother, Susan, is a breast cancer survivor.

Olsen is coming off of a career year and his first Pro Bowl selection in 2014.  He posted his first 1,000-yard campaign while catching 84 passes and six touchdowns.

For his efforts, the Panthers rewarded Olsen this offseason with a three-year, $22.5 million extension.  He has also helped Carolina make playoff appearances in each of the last two seasons.

Olsen was originally a first round pick of the Bears out of the University of Miami.  In 2009, he caught a career-best eight touchdowns for Chicago.
